Healing After Divorce™ — Full Workshop Facilitator Guide
Lead one of the most pastorally tender workshops in the series — with full preparation and genuine care.
⚠ Facilitators only — not for participant distribution.
This workshop asks participants to grieve specifically, inventory honestly, release agreements that have been quietly governing their self-understanding for years, and declare what God has said over a life that pain has been narrating differently. That is some of the most significant pastoral work in the series — and it requires a facilitator who is fully prepared for every dimension of it. This guide provides that preparation.
What's Inside:
Zoom setup with specific guidance for this session's pastoral register — camera-off culture, pace adjustments, and how to hold the full arc of the workshop without rushing any movement
Full 90–120 minute session flow with timing and pastoral pace notes
Welcome and framing scripts — how to open for participants who may be at very different stages of grief and readiness
Teaching notes for all four teachings: key objectives, Scripture context — including Hebrew word study in Teaching 1 and context note for Jeremiah 29:11 in Teaching 3 — discussion questions, chat prompts, and pastoral notes on the most sensitive moments in each teaching
Guidance on the Grief Inventory — the most personally exposing exercise in the workshop and the one most likely to surface significant grief
Guidance on the Agreement Release and Post-Divorce Identity Statement — how to hold these exercises with the pastoral weight they require
Exercise facilitation: Option A (breakout rooms, with specific guidance for divorce grief content) and Option B (solo reflection) for all exercises
Difficult moments protocols: acute grief surfacing during any teaching; a participant for whom the honest inventory produces significant distress; a participant carrying abuse, betrayal, or significant trauma within the marriage; disclosure requiring pastoral follow-up or crisis referral
Crisis resources, grief support referral guidance, and pastoral follow-up best practices
Full closing script and ecosystem pathway
